1st Jam Nite....

This was my first ever ANYTHING live. I think I'd been playing sax for maybe, 3 or 4 months, with no musical experience whatsoever. I was utterly terrified!

All my friends came to see (which was maybe worse!!), and thanks to them, I have this photo as a permanent reminder of my terror, and of how much I have learned since - and am still learning!!

It was probably awful, but I did it, and I hope every beginner can get over that HUGE hurdle of the '1st live performance'...and live to tell the tale!

Below are some photos of my very first 'Gig' - well, it was one song, Sweet Home Chicago, played with a local band - Smokestack Lightnin'

It was at the Condom Rally 2000 (Motorbike Rally!) held at Mersea Island. The hall was HUGE and there was approx. 800 people there dancing, shouting and drinking beer in front of me - most of whom I knew!

To any beginners out there reading this; I highly reccommend finding a local band who'll have you for one song - just so you get a taste of what it's going to be like when you're good enough - I've never felt a buzz like it!!

Before...shaky...Here she goes...Relaxing into it
